Food was excellent but our server Robert was the real star of the show. He was extremely attentive and informed. Loved our experience!
Excellent service! Some of the best service I have had to date in a Chicago restaurant!! The meal was 5 star. I had the Kansas City Strip with a side of onion rings. The rings were perfect in texture and flavor. Appetizer was the best tuna tartare I have ever had.
The food was incredible. Service was absolutely amazing. And the ambiance was so beautiful. Will definitely be back. We arrived at the restaurant a little before our reservation so we sat in the bar area and had a drink while we waited. Our waitress was very helpful on what drinks to get or what spirits they had. Our server for dinner was very knowledgeable as well and gave phenomenal recommendations. We did not get appetizers. Our 8 person group each got an entree and then we shared 5 different sides: brussel sprouts, broccolini, truffled scalloped potatoes, lobster Mac n cheese, and whipped potatoes, all sooo tasty! My favorite was probably the truffled scalloped potatoes, INSANE flavor. We ended the dinner with a birthday cele and dessert platter, all amazing! Personal favorite was the peanut butter pie
I had hoped to return here much sooner after our last visit. But it took six years for that to happen. And the food, ambiance, and service were just as good and impressive as last time. Again at our request we were seated on the patio that overlooked the Chicago River. The "L" kept clacking along slightly above us, and tour boats glided by below. Again, the sound of emergency vehicles' sirens became a common backdrop to our meal. This time a heat lamp was nearby to take away some of the late-October chill. We began our first dinner in Chicago on this cross-country trip with two hot Jumbo Stone Crab Claws with Drawn Butter at $45.00 a claw. Next for me was a crock of French Onion Soup that was just overflowing with cheese, and a Wedge Salad that consisted of two upright wedges filled with tomato slices, Bacon Lardons, Maytag Bleu Cheese Crumbles, and Bleu Cheese Dressing. For entrees, Diane selected Chilean Sea Bass with Miso Glaze and crispy Hash Browns, while I opted for an 8 oz. medium rare Filte Mignon with two Tristan Lobster Tails, Drawn Butter, and Shitake and Crimini Mushrooms , plus a Baked Potato with fxings. My Filet was medium rare s ordered, everything was delicious, and the lobster was sweet. Diane topped off the evening by ordering and savoring a large slice of moist Carrot Cake. Service by Parker and his assistants was impeccable, and the ambiance superb. The final tab, including tip, with no alcohol, was over $400.00, even after the manager on duty gave Diane a generous military discount. This meal for two at Chicago Cut cost more than the dinner for ten that we hosted at Chesapeake Seafood in Springfield, Illinois two days before. But we both believed the experience was worth the high tariff.
Went back finally a few years ago and it was night and day from my first visit. Just realized I had never updated my review. The stupid wine iPad was gone, service was dramatically better, food was correct and great, all the things I liked the first time around were still great; all the things that went wrong were corrected. It's an excellent choice and I would now recommend the spot, I'm only not giving it five stars because there are two spots in Chicago I think you can get a better steak for the same money. However the view and spectacle of Chicago Cut is stellar. Will definitely return in 2025.
One of the great steak houses that I have been to. My friend recommended it, and came with my wife. It was packed. That I didn't like but the food was good! I would recommended it to Everyone and recommend it to friends and family!
We brought our customers from CT here last night for dinner. All I can say was I was overly impressed & that doesn't happen quite often. Our customers absolutely loved the vibe of the old school steakhouse The service was top-notch. The food was top-notch, and the atmosphere was top-notch! Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures of the food, but it was absolutely amazing from the appetizers to our dinner. We had a great experience and headed to the Hawks game ! Kudos Chicago cut ! Highly recommend
Amazing location in downtown Chicago. Beautiful scenery and setting. Scott our server/ host / comedian was amazing. Appetizers were delicious and truly enjoyed the crab cakes to start. Wine selections and everything were great. I went with the New York strip. Only issue was the over char on it. Was a little over crisp on the outside. Steak was solid overall, just a little too much char. Overall great dining experience and I would return on another trip to the Chi.
This was my first night in Chicago and it did not disappoint. My husband and I dined here last evening at 10pm. There is valet outside however you must have cash or you'll have to walk across to 7/11 for an ATM. Upon arrival we requested to be sat outside. The evening was perfect not too hot or cold. The views were beautiful. I took so many videos and pictures. Our waiter Todd was very attentive. I ordered the wedge salad chopped and my husband ordered a filet. We wanted to order the scalloped potato's but they had just sold out before we arrived. Instead we ordered the hash browns which I was not a fan of. The wedge salad was delicious the perfect amount of bacon to lettuce ratio. My husband requested his filet Pittsburgh style and it came out delicious! A great dining experience I would recommend this place.
We opted to sit outside because the weather was nice. However, all the small tables were by the restaurant side and the big tables were by the river side. So we didn't get to sit by the river. You can see the Chicago skyline and the train going through the bridge once in a while. We ordered the French onion soup and brussel sprouts to share. For entrees we got the center barrel cut filet mignon and dry aged marinated Cajun rib eye. French onion soup was delicious! It has some flavors from the steak and the cheese on top was perfect. Brussel sprouts has bacon lardons and maple syrup but it tasted more on the sweet side. I enjoyed it but James was not a big fan. On the steak part, I like how the steaks were cooked medium rare throughout (even the edge). The flavor was good on both of the steaks. You can taste the Cajun on the dry aged marinated rib eye. I don't know if my palate favored salty food at that moment but I needed to add some salt to the steaks. Service was excellent. I forgot his name but he was training a new server. He was attentive. We put down a note that we were celebrating our anniversary and he gave us compliment dessert. We picked the Oreo mint ice cream pie and it was good too.
